Invitations Are GO!

As of today the invitations are out and heading your way! And if they're not heading your way it's because you didn't ask to be invited; we gave you ample warning so you can't pin this on us!

Your incoming invitation is fashioned from LCI Paper's fancy paper and Card Stock. The interior design features watermark images traced via Photoshop (I can't draw with a tablet... I don't feel any shame). The letters are all addressed handwritten by Amy, unless it was one of the three or four I did, in which case your envelope is upside down! And each invitation comes with an RSVP card and return envelope already stamped!

Assembly!

Yesterday was the day Amy and I were able to set aside for assembling the invitations to be sent out, and what I thought would be somewhat hectic though turned out to be fun! By the end of it there was an exciting "we're getting closer" feeling going through me and made the day feel pretty awesome!

We had already printed out the RSVPs the previous weekend, but still had to get the invitations printed. The reason the invitations had been held off on was because I wrote the url for the blog down as undreadwedding instead of undeadwedding and that needed to be fixed, and while doing so I realized that we didn't have a date down for when the RSVPs were to be back by so I fixed that. So while I was printing out invitations, Amy was cutting the RSVPs. Both the invitations and the RSVPs are odd sizes for the envelops that we got from LCI Paper, and so we had to cut them all out individually (this being the reason I wasn't expecting the invitations to be all that fun).

After that Amy fired up her candle and got the sealing wax out! She had been practicing with the sealing wax for a bit, learning the tricks to getting it to work just right.

The sealing stamp we go is a little skull dude! The stamp isn't carved all that deep and a few of you may not be able to tell exactly what the stamp is (or you may not have paid attention and not seen the image in the stamp at all) and so I wanted to have a picture of the stamp up on the blog so everyone could see!

As Amy worked on the seals I began assembling the invitations and getting them ready to be sent out to you! And I only forgot to put one RSVP card in an envelope! This was corrected!

In total we did 27 invitations, most of which were couples, so if everyone were to come, we're expecting somewhere from 56 to 60 people!!

After we finished putting all the invitations together Amy pulled out a little dancing skeleton stamp her mom had found and thought we'd like for the wedding and we "sealed" the backs of the mailing envelops with him!

Hope to see you there!!

Invitations!!!

We've got them pretty much finished!

All that's really left is to do some printing, do some assembling, and do some sending!

Even if not everyone's able to make it, it's feeling good to know we've got them close to ready.

I think our count on people was 45, and that isn't including the people bringing guests. But as I said, there are a few people we know won't be able to make it, and then there's always the cancelation or two that might occur.

This has kind of seemed like the biggest hurtle for us to get over. I'm not saying that what we have left isn't going to be any less difficult, but this was the most prevalent of our tasks thus far.

A Little Something To Know About the RSVP You'll Be Sending Back!

You will have a few options to choose from on your RSVP card, and while we are sure you all are competent enough to figure them out, we didn't want to leave anyone hanging!

The RSVP card reads out as follows:

I,_____________________, will be
() Attending
() Not Attending
() With Ghost _____________________

Now, this is a pretty standard little dude as far as I'm concerned; you'll be asked to fill in the blank on who you are, as I said earlier we have 45 people invited to this thing so far! If you are of a group, such as my parents and siblings are listed as a whole, then just list one of your expected party, or if you wanna cram everyone on there you can! Please use first and last names!

The only other problem we expect people to run into on this RSVP card is the option of Ghost. Just to have something fun and Halloweeny added to the card, we're using the Ghost option to be the Guest option, and the line is for you to add their name in so we know who they may be!

You should be grateful, Amy had to talk me out of making the options

To start things off!

To start things off, I guess I should make mention of what's been done, what needs doing, and what's still in the air.

The Done Stuff
Currently, a good portion of the decor for the reception has been picked out/bought, the things to make the invitations are sitting next to me, the rings have been got, and several addresses have been obtained.

There are a few "want but don't need" items that we're still thinking long and hard on, but I think we have 75% of what we are going to get.

The Needs Doing Stuff
As mentioned above, the invitations are sitting right next to me looking all sad and neglected. I'm currently working on them and we're hoping to have them sent out before the end of the week because we're hoping to get RSVPs by October 1st. This is so we'll know if we can try for a group discount at a hotel or not.

The Up in the Air Things
We aren't sure what's going on as far as food at this point. An earlier idea that may still be in circulation is preparing it all ourselves, and if this is the case any and all help is appreciated!

As mentioned prior: we may or may not be trying to get a hotel rate for people coming in from out of town without a place to chill, this will be your source to go to if you want to know though!

The Things That Shall Be Known
This reception is also a Halloween party, we want you to dress up! We aren't too picky on what you dress as, just don't whore it up as this is still a wedding reception!

The reception is taking place at a former restaurant by the name of "Baila", which requires there to be a payed bartender at the premises if alcohol is to be served; as we will not be paying for the services of a bartender this is a dry reception and we apologize.

I will trying to update this site at least once a week, or whenever something important comes up, such as us sending out invitations!
